The light heavyweight bout between Gerald Meerschaert and Ed Herman that was scheduled for UFC Vegas 5 has been cancelled after Meerschaert tested positive for COVID-19.
The news was broken earlier tonight by Ariel Helwani, before the American himself confirmed it himself through his Twitter account. Meerschaert tweeted the following earlier tonight:
"Tested positive for Covid so fights off. Feel healthy and will do everything I can to keep it that way and keep those around me safe."
The fight was set to take place on the main card tonight, but the show will move forward with just nine fights set to take place.
